Galzurkh Malqir
Abyssal Lurker
"I have chosen darkness to be my guide.
War is in my heart, death is by my side.”
Galzurkh was initially your most basic of Malqir until his curiosities of the world led him to adventure across the map. Tactical and intelligent, he carries a mysteriousness around him with a near-constant stoic expression.Calculative, observant, patient, and slow to anger. These words best describe him. Walking with confidence in his stride, he surveys and watches everything around him; learning more as he views than speaks. As such, easily mistaken as a Qestir. His true intentions and strengths hidden behind a veil of obscuring shadows.Through his studies of Thaumaturgy and the path of a warrior, he began to develop a destructive and darker side, as well as a fascination with fire. Compared to his usual behavior, his personality switches in the midst of conflict. In addition, a darker side of Galzurkh was made manifest, as did the call of an outside voice that none could hear but himself. As a powerful, skilled, and versatile Xaela, he is similar to a Dotharl in that he revels in violence, but has enough weaknesses for fate to balance him out. His level-headed restraint, however, is akin to other Malqir. Despite this, he still retains his calm and collected nature, as when the blood ceases to boil and adrenaline fades away, so too does his drive.
As a Warrior of the Steppe, he is not without honor and pride. However, due to the twisted paths in his life leading to present times, Galzurkh's personality has been rendered unpredictable. His mood is ever uncertain to many, nor does his body or face give any indication of how he feels.By default, he's silent and average like most Xaela. More observant than anything. A stoic expression is a norm to him, but his eyes are a flaw and tell a different story to those with greater perception. Approaching him is possible, but any outside of his field of expertise will be met with silent staring and vague gestures. He does not speak to just anyone.Due to severe side effects after experiencing an uncontrolled Will of Karash twice over, Galzurkh is a victim of memory loss and Common tongue. Even if he does choose to speak, only those who understand Xaelic will comprehend him. Fortunately, Shadows can do more than simplely follow you around. Strangely enough, he can understand Common just fine. Though he has somewhat mentally recovered, not all memories of the past could be remembered... or rather, unwanting to face them again.
With his interest in darker crafts, his affinity to manipulate shadow is his strong suit, as well as fire. If ever slightly, only those with ties similar to his own does he find interest in and open up to. Those with Aethersight or can see traces of Void may see more beyond the mortal eye. (/tell this for more information.) Galzurkh is strong by ability and strength, but not without his weaknesses. Though intimidating by some, he is never out to impress anyone; uncertain how one would react to his true profession... and dark dealings. When entering the field of battle, his personality changes and his mood becomes more serious and merciless. His attacks swift, ruthless, and takes great pleasure in causing havoc on the battlefield. Sometimes, a -little- too much. Despite being this war-happy, Galzurkh is tactful and precise with his blows. Fire, darkness, and one unseen are his allies, as he manipulates such to his advantage.Whether it be burning his enemies from the inside, or swallowing them up in darkness, Galzurkh’s quiet and seemingly unreactive demeanor is not one to underestimate. War and conflict are like a game to him and everyone plays their role. It's one big game of Kharaqiq.

Blood and StoneReigning from the Malqir tribe, those who favored brain instead of brawn, Galzurkh lived a rather quiet life of sanctuary. He spent most of his time aiding the tribe and exploring old ruins with a curious but cautious approach. Such curiosities led into learning Thaumaturgy. It wasn't until leaving the "Malqir Bubble" did he travel to Ul'dah and pursued the craft further. Thus did begin his path away from normality. A path leading to newfound power... and a downward spiral into a darker twist of fate.

But Thaumaturgy wasn't enough and nor was it wise to fully depend on it, especially if found defenseless in close quarters. To solve this flaw, Galzurkh returned back to his roots in the Azim Steppe and sought out the Dotharl for guidance as a marauder. During training, he was informed about the Will of Karash - a state of berserk rage and bloodlust that the Dotharl believed in. Something the Malqir generally didn't need to concern over, and thus did Galzurkh ignorantly dismiss it.Such negligence he would soon pay dearly, as an incident would result Galzurkh with trauma and external damage. With these injuries came a loss of memory as well as a deep hindrance to speaking fluent Common. Though he could understand it after recovery, only his strong grasp of Xaelic remained intact. Even so, a nagging strip of guilt burrowed deep. Whatever had happened, it was his fault. (Find out in RP if the moment comes.)
OutcastGuilt-ridden from the unknown, Galzurkh fled the Steppe without a word and returned back to the west. He would travel to Ul'dah but steer clear of people for fear of losing control again; thus sticking with Thaumaturgy. In the passing few months, after overhearing from a Dark Knight in the Quicksand about their journey of controlling the rage within, this sounded like a solution Galzurkh was looking for.Traveling to Ishgard was no small feat. He would come across a dark-plated Xaela woman of charcoal skin that seemed to fit the description. Voicing his concerns, the Xaela - Nystera, would help him as she, too, experienced such bloodlust of her own. Years would pass as the two both learned and grew close to one another as partners. Unfortunately, all happiness comes to an end.

During the middle of a training duel, where one blow was meant to disarm instead turned violent as Galzurkh failed to control the Will once again. Despite her teachings, he would end up killing her by accident. Before dying in his arms, his chest armor unequipped, she would forgive Galzurkh and pass on her soulstone to him with nary a chance to deny it. Setting the body aside, he would cradle his own greatsword stained in her blood. With guilty rage wracking the Xaela's mind, Galzurkh would spiral into despair and continuously dig his blade into his chest. Again and again, until falling unconscious of the loss of blood; fortunately not severe. Nearly buried in snow, the two would be found minutes later by elezen scouts.A week came and went with Galzurkh waking by bright lights; an apparent infirmary. Where a deep scar was discovered diagonally over his chest, parts of his memory were lost once again. Memory over the Xaela woman's death, even the name of his tutor-late-partner, was forgotten. Though he knew naught, connecting this event to the first accident wasn't difficult and assumed this was his fault somehow. Despite feeling an unknown void in his heart, Galzurkh would carry the deceased unknown woman's soulstone in honor of her passing. Embracing the darkness built upon his pain.
Whispers in the DarkYears would pass since the accident in Coerthas. Keeping his thoughts occupied, Galzurkh would up jobs and leves as an adventurer. Doing it all on his own for so long, the loneliness set in. He would occupy his time further by jumping from one mercenary Free Company after another; more gil gained in the process. Ever still silent and refusing to speak, thus being assumed a Qestir by others. It was around the time of the Final Days when his Free Company traveled to frozen wastes of Garlemald did his fate grow darker once again. As his Company regrouped to Camp Broken Glass, a dark presence loomed in the distance and whispered; catching Galzurkh's attention. Investigating the threat with a comrade, nothing but a pile of rubble with a gruesomely mangled body buried underneath was found. That, and an oddly-shaped black stone in front of a bloodied hand. Curiosity getting the better of him, he'd grab for the stone and for what would feel like minutes, time stopped. The voice returned. A voidsent or more specifically, a Blackguard.

Disappointed and irritated by the premature death of its vessel, the apparent Reaper underneath the rubble, the Blackguard offered a binding contract. The Xaela was no stranger to Voidsents. By his logic, he had nothing to lose. No one to love him. None to miss him. This was a chance to redeem himself of the innocent blood he spilled. Being a necessary evil to fight a bigger one. Accepting the contract, Galzurkh would become assaulted by a rapid influx of images and information. Such a mental process of a Reaper's fighting style and abilities was so overwhelming that when the transfer of information was finished, Galzurkh would fall unconscious for a week. After the events of the Final Days, most of his time has been spent continuing leves, hunting boards, dangerous jobs, lazying around without a care, and going to bars for drink and food. Under the protection of a house in The Empyreum, he now hunts voidsent as a man of few words with a dark, bloodied past. A past he has only shared with his Nhaama, much like his gil pouch... Even if she dislikes the use gil.

Galzurkh is a tragic character and has been through a lot. Though he won't show his feelings, the subtle pain in his eyes tell a different story. Is your character an empathetic?
As a Malqir, Galzurkh has a nasty habit of staring at people. His way of just watching and understanding a person from a distance. Maybe confront his nosy behavior?
Does your character have aethersight or can see voidsent? His shadow is always close behind. (/tell for more information on this).
Galzurkh occasionally travels between Ul’dah and the Azim Steppes. Was he spotted in between or seen at a younger age?
There's a rock out front of Ul'dah he sits and lays on almost every day. That's his lizard rock. The sun is hot there. He claimed ownership of it. That's his now.

"Though a socialite within Ul'dah's walls, you once had a habit of bringing me into lands that prove quite enjoyable to cleave havoc through."
"A burly Roegadyn with a style for black, you always have a nasty habit of attracting attention. Both good and bad. It's always amusing to watch."
"A loyal friend, comrade, equal... and Nhaama. With the bond we share, neither the blinding light nor consuming darkness can separate the twin blades of death. Never one, without the other."

Greetings! While this carrd is subject to change and update to better quality in time, I will provide this for now.RP Experience/Quality
I've been playing in the RP spectrum ever since the olden days of Runescape, to IMVU RP groups, then WoW, and now FFXIV. That being said, my writing can range from some sentences or a few paragraphs. I try to garner others around me and not flood the chat with a giant post.Connections
As you may have surmised, Galzurkh is a tragic character and can be difficult to warm up due to his emotionally scarred, painful past. If your character has managed to impact Galzurkh, I'm completely open to accepting friend requests for more interaction and/or the exchange of discords.Establishing connections and friends are surely welcome (and Mr. Loner here needs some friends, anyway). So, if you have an idea for RP purposes, don't hesitate to send me a /tell.Themes
Generally, Galzurkh is a carbon-copy representation of my other character on WoW. His theme can potentially be dark to the point of violence, gore as well as mature themes of erotic intent... if someone can even break through his walls. Themes of exploration, romance, drama and cryptic mystery are also major points in his existence. With that said, Galzurkh is NOT the type to nose dive into erotic encounters. If it ever comes to such mature themes, I prefer the journey and not the quick destination. Besides, Galzurkh prefers natural relationship development with how memorable they can be, instead of one-night stands lost in the abyss. I'm also fine with RP drama so long it stays IC.OOC
My timezone is US East (UTC-05:00). As a designated night owl, my sleep schedule is royally screwed up and lost in the Seven Hells. Though I work throughout the week, the time I go to bed and whenever I come on determines how I feel. Trying to find me around won't be difficult, especially if we exchange discords. It goes without saying though, that any IC actions or words done by Galzurkh do not reflect my own. IC =/= OOC. If you intend to ghost or abandon for a reason I'm not aware of, let me know. We're all adults here. I'm not the emotionally sensitive type.
